The History of Sufism / The Life of Junaid Baghdadi

An unbiased view of the history of Sufism and how it evolved. The speaker Dr. Muhammad Musa Al-Shareef also relates the life of a great scholar and Imam Junaid ibn Muhammad Abu al-Qasim al-Khazzaz al-Baghdadi (830-910 AD). The speaker is Dr. Muhammad Musa Al-Shareef who was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and graduated from the Faculty of Shari`ah, Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, in 1408 AH He obtained his MA and Ph.D. in the Qur'an and the Sunnah from Faculty of Usul Ad-Din (Theology) -- Umm Al-Qura University. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Islamic Studies, King Abdul Aziz University.
